Long-Tail Cast-On Method
The most widely used cast on in knitting due to its smooth finish and firm, yet elastic tension.
This cast-on method makes a smooth and neat edge.
Materials required:
yarn;
knitting needles.
Leave a long tail (about 1.4 cm/ 1/2 inch) for each stitch to be cast on. The video above from Knit Purl Hunter explains this cast-on method very well.
